  5. A destructive earthquake kicked off a powerful tsunami that sent speeding waves of water to coastal cities in the north that gave the cities a devastating outcome. The Japanese- even though they were used to devastative earthquakes- were surprised by the 8.9 magnitude. Many homes were destroyed, many roads ripped up, and trains and buses were not running. Train service was stopped and very few planes were able to fly. Many people lost loved ones and friends. The death toll was in the hundreds, but the government said it would go over 1,000. Earthquakes that have this high of a magnitude and tsunamis that hit this hard can only bring devastation.

  6. The main idea of the article is that over 10,000 people died . All of this happened because of the earthquake and the Tsunami. The earthquake was one of the highest 8.8.Then the tsunami happened only a few minutes after. The earth and tsunami reached pasted the coastal villages, that had vanished under the mud(caused by the tsunami). The Government sent over 100,000 strop's to help japan ASAP. After as much help as thy could get the prime minister said"If the nation works together, we will over come it"I think we could help them too.

  8. Tishaura J. Making charter schools more accountable {March 10, 2011}Thursday St.Louis American A4

What is the state of Missouri doing to make sure charter schools are being held properly accountable for their students, they are using standardized test as accountability for a public education in the state.
In other states, charter school legislation was passed to expand opportunities for teacher creativity and increase student achievement. This bill seeks to both improve the quality of charter schools by increasing accountability and requiring that failing charter schools are closed if they are not meeting established benchmarks in academic and operational performance. House Bill 473 seeks to
make quality charter schools the standard, while making it easier to close under performing schools through more advanced accountability measures. House Bill 473 and expanding access to charter schools comes down to one issue: giving children the opportunity to succeed by empowering families to make choices concerning education.

  11. Brennan, M. (2011, march 11).America’s cleanest cities. Forbes magazine. Retrieved from: http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/americas-cleanest-cities-2011.html

America’s cleanest cities is a great article about the cleanest cities in America, of course! Texas is widely known as a Mecca for all the things related to fossils fuels, but here’s a surprise: it’s also home to the cleanest town in the country. That’s right. The McAllen-Edinburg-mission, Texas, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) ranks tops in our list of America’s cleanest cities. Also what got the McAllen-Mission MSA on the list? A lack of superfunds respectable air quality and a meager amount of toxic substances generated and disposed of by local faculties. Would you like to know the top 5 cleanest cities? I bet you do. 1. Las Vegas, Nev. 2. Orlando, Fla. 3. Raleigh, Nc. 4. Little Rock, Ark. 5. McAllen, Tx. Those are the top 5! Wasn’t this good at least? It may not be better than the article but it was sure good to me! If you liked this you’ll love the article!
